Last of Us: We’ve continued to get requests from gamers so the second prints are welcome. The trade doesn’t come out until 10/31/13 so we have plenty of time to feed the singles market. Animal Man: For the first time in recorded history (okay, pre-Rot World) this title did not shed readers on the last issue. We may have found the new floor. Batman 66: I hate this book and I’ve made no secret of it. I still expected it to sell and, sadly, it did. I still think it’s a fad book like so many of the 80’s reboots have been. Ordering at 75% of sales on #1. Batman & Nightwing: People still love the Batman / Dick Grayson team-up so this will get some nostalgia sales. But they love Bruce & Catwoman, too so basing my numbers strictly on the previous issue. Batman Beyond Universe: No reason to not think this won’t be a lockstep sales book with the regular Batman Beyond, at least for the first 3-4 issues. Ordering as a regular Batman Beyond plus 15% for the #1. Birds of Prey: This continues to drop. In this issue, ‘Black Canary learns a devastating truth’. This group seems to reveal more secrets than the National Enquirer but fewer people care. Collider: I despise having to order #2 before I see how #1 has done after at least one week, especially when #1 is late or, like this book, resolicited. Anyways, DC is offering full returnability on #2 for an order of 95% of #1 (MAY130246  correct item code, DC has it wrong on the solicitation)....

Halo Initiation: Halo has been a book that continues to sell over time. Order up a bit and find the ceiling. Ordering like Mass Effect. Hellboy Midnight Circus: Original content. Hellboy fans will want this so ordering like a regular BPRD issue. BPRD fans seem to be the more hardcore Hellboy universe fans. Yeah, it will be a slower seller, but you won’t get stuck with them. Resident Alien: First series did okay. Last issue, #3 (MAY120026) shipped a year ago this week. This should do about the same and maybe a bit better. Ordering low but not placeholder-low. Star Wars: We’re seeing attrition though that’s not abnormal. Cutting some but still strong. X: Final issue, nothing outrageous here except to note that searching for ‘X’ in a comic database can be frustrating. Batman: Bruce Wayne picks up the mantle of Batman for the first time. It’s an origin story so it was sorta going to happen sooner or later. I don’t think it’s going to do anything additional for sales on an already strong selling series. Demon Knights: Final issue and not a moment too soon. I have to give Kudos to the creative team(s) along the way who managed to pull off 23 issues of Etrigan before getting the axe. The initial death watch had this one pegged as an early loser. Green Arrow TP: Little interest in Vol 2 and this isn’t by Lemire so go easy. GL Corps: Even with the rings this book is in decline. Take away the rings and we could be seeing the equivalent of cutting off the oxygen to grandpa....
