Very small FOC this week. Next week will likely be massive. Groo and Friends: Sergio Aragones has his fans and Groo leaves some fans with fond memories – if they can still remember what they had for lunch. Either way, this will sell as well as Sergio’s Funnies. Star Trek Planet of the Apes: No info on #1 yet so going easy on #2 until I have some data. Placeholder until next week. That’s all...

FOC 12.22.14

Small week this week. No Marvel or DC. Conan Red Sonja: When these two characters team up it tend to bring out the interest from the fans. Red Sonja numbers X1.5 to 2. Creeple Peeple: This could be the most amazing story and art on the planet but no one will ever know being that it’s a 3 issue series. Our entire subscriber base passed on this and so did all the managers. Powerpuff Girls: Super Secret Crisis War ended with a yawn as too many fans jumped off. Ditto with the previous PP girls series. Take a look at how the last PP girls series ended and order up a slight bit from there for the #1. Autumlands?: After last week’s Rat Queens and this it seem Image is having a tough time figuring out what their books are named. Reyn: Not a lot of love on this one. Looks like D&D with no tie-in to D&D. Lower Image #1. Burning Fields: Major boring cover. I would like to find something to recommend this but I just don’t see it selling. Rocket Salvage: One store did well with this. The rest tanked. Not very promising. King Flash Gordon / King The Phantom: The last person who was interested in either of these books died in 1997. Order only what you want to get stuck with because this is DOA and should be shipped in little pine boxes. Just because you can license a line for $50 doesn't mean you should. Zero is good. Really good. Twilight Zone S&S: Same as the previous series. Ivar Timewalker: Nice preview; the...

Lady Killer: Not enough info on this to make a good recommendation. This could have benefitted greatly from a preview. I went looking for more info and could only find that Dark Horse is offering it for 20% off on their website so it’s obviously not worth cover price. Low or subs. Fables The Wolf Among Us: Should sell the same as Fables. No-brainer. Flash covers: These aren’t bad; they’re terrible. We’ve done okay to well with the DC variants but these are just dumb and awful. Harley might be the only exception but don’t go gangbusters there either. Klarion: Totally missed the mark with every audience and there’s no way of telling how far #3 will fall (though it won’t be a long fall even if it’s to zero). No value as a back issue so sell out and be happy. Subs and let it die. Lobo: Fans are abandoning this as expected. Cutting Mortal Kombat X: Cool connecting covers but it’s a video game book so it will be limited. Order along the lines of Injustice. Superman Man of Steel Statue: None of the Gallery can justify ordering this one. Too specialized. Wolf Moon: So-so sales. Nothing to get excited about. IXth Generation: Pull for Artifacts, Aphrodite, and Cyber Force. Jupiter’s Legacy: With the snail’s pace publishing schedule we can only cut orders to subs and some. This loses a lot of readers every issue. ODYC: Turns out we didn’t need the overship on #1 and didn’t need what we ordered either. Not much to see here. Cutting to 60% of sales on #1 and hoping that’s...
