Ei8ht: #1 did better than expected. Keep the numbers where it’s selling. Frankenstein Underground: I don’t think it’s too aggressive to pull this for your Hellboy fans. Shaper: Doesn’t look bad but it doesn’t look like something that will gain any traction from the stands. Lower end DH book. 15 copies gets your 15% but you’ll have to hand-sell to move that many in most stores. Batgirl Endgame: No idea how these tie-ins will do so ordering subs plus about 25% on this one. Batman & Robin Movie variant: Harry Potter cover so that’s worth a few extra sales. Infinity Man: Mark Evanier once commented that doing a Madballs comic was akin to teaching your dog to play chess: he didn’t have to be good, that he could do it at all is amazing. Infinity Man gets a big shout out for playing dog-chess for 9 issues. Kitchen: We now know the interest in the wives of mobsters and it’s more dog-chess. Strange Sports Stories: Strange that they’d publish this at all. At 4.99 for an anthology even your CM Punk fans will likely balk. I like my money. I’m keeping it. Subs plus one, which (one plus that, carry the one) is… one. Supergirl Movie: Sort of Wizard of Oz but could have been better. Wonder Woman Movie: Sienkiewicz knocks this 300 poster out of the park. Jem and the Holographics: The Gallery suggests we order the 25 to make it returnable while finding the ceiling. They also see a similar demographic to LumberJanes. I think we can find the ceiling by ordering 5 copies but I’m in...

Batgirl: Purple Rain cover on the movie variant should appeal to a few extra fans. Batman Arkham Knight: Should do pretty much the same numbers as the previous Arkham books plus a few for the #1. Detective Comics Endgame: Red flags all over this one. No cover and not much info means Detective subs and that’s about it. Reorder as needed but don’t get stuck with a book that has “meh, no thanks” written all over it. Harley Movie variant: I’m sure Elvis fans will consider this sacrilege. Oh well. Harley Sells. IZombie Special: Renewed interest in a not-so-much interest title. Get some for the folks who have heard about the TV series. Multiversity Guidebook: This book ties heavily into Convergence so if you don’t have any left, get some. Superman 38: You’re out. Order more. IDW and #2s: We’re ordering 3 #2s this week with no data on #1. So we put in placeholder orders and revisit them after we see what #1 does. If they sell out of #2? We’ll sell something else by someone who gets FOC. Postal: The first issue was met with ennui. Ennui is never a good thing when selling comics. Southern Cross: Becky Cloonan has an indy fan base and this looks cool to me as I’m a huge Halo Jones fan and this has the same vibe. Unfortunately, Halo came out nearly 3 decades ago so it’s likely not on the subscriber lists anymore. Gallery is mixed on this one. Ordering mid-range Image. Surface: Odd book. Not sure who to pull this for or recommend it to. Low to middle range....

Neverboy: Concept is nifty but getting people to look at it will be a challenge on the crowded rack. Some. Action Movie Cover: Should have some nice demand. These covers have been getting some nice notice. For those who haven’t downloaded the movie cover sign up sheet, check it out at www.comicbookretailer.com. Arkham Manor Endgame: Should sell like Arkham Mannor but it’s a one-shot (maybe?) and there’s no info. Dial H Deluxe HC: My mantra on books like this is that the series was canceled for a reason and I can give you 34.99 reasons no to order it. FCBD: I’m still not sold on Convergence but I’m reserving final judgment until after the Roadshow next week. No reason this book shouldn’t get great traction. Grayson Movie Cover: Bruce Lee fans might like this but they may also think it sacrilege. Mother Box Prop Replica: What self-respecting geek wouldn’t think this is cool? None! What self-respecting geek will shell out $60 for something no one outside intense geekdom will recognize? Uh… not many. I still want one for a few of our stores. Swamp Thing 40: Special sideways format. Oh joy. Fly Outbreak: Classic Movie but is there a fan following for a comic sequel? I don’t think so but matching to Edward Scissorhands gets you returnability. Miami Vice Remix: Order 10 and it’s returnable, which is good because Miami Vice was a suave yet gritty series and Jim Mafood’s art is more Miami Mice than Miami Vice. I don’t see this selling. Transformers Windblade Combiner Wars: There’s a distinct possibility that this will sell just like every other...

Mister X: One of the Gallery summed it up best: This is a great book that no one wants to read. Order low as by the time you get the numbers right it will be over. Catwoman Harley cover: Nice to see Jim Balent on something we can rack. Deathstroke: If you ordered up and pulled for Harley then you likely saw a nice bump on the last issue. This should do the same (pull for Harley) but having her on every book without an appearance will likely hurt this a bit. Effigy: #1 is sitting there like a 3 day old fish. Not a good sign. Flash Blank cover: I’m okay with this (order some) but why a blank cover on #39? Suiciders: Lee Bermejo (Ber-may-ho) does some amazing work. I don’t know that the subject will keep the readers and I don’t know if Lee can sustain a monthly book but it sure looks pretty! Returnable with a 100% order of American Vampire #1 (JAN140366). I’d hit that number plus some. Orphan Black: Based on a popular (though not Dr. Who popular) TV series. Art is pretty iffy but fans of the show should enjoy it nonetheless. I was going to suggest about half Dr. Who but 25 copies gets you returnability so let’s find the ceiling on IDW’s generous dime. Orphan Black Comp 8 Cover Box Set: Is there a market for this? Not so sure that the fanbase is this rabid. TMNT Ongoing Variant: Cover by Aaron Conley, who works at our Lakeland location. We have a lot of requests for this book so anyone...
