Daenerys and Drogon Statue: If you sell statues and have and GOT fans (you do), this is a great statue. Power Cubed: Looks fun but it will be a tough sell. Gallery doesn’t see the appeal. Cyborg: Wow. #1 did pretty great and #2 fell horribly. #3 is going to be about a quarter of what #1 was. Scooby Doo Team UP: Harley Quinn. Order up. Sinestro: Van Sciver art, which is odd for a fill-in artist. Might bring in a few extra GL fans. Star Trek #50: The Mirror Universe debuts in the new universe. Fans would want this if they knew about it but the cover does nothing to sell the story. TMNT #50: The price shouldn’t hurt sales and the anniversary issue should even add a few copies. Deadpool V Thanos: No data on #1 but should sell like every other Deadpool mini. Fury Shield: Another one-shot with little to no upside. Small numbers. Star Wars Kanan and Star Wars Princess Leia TPBS: Order up. These will sell as long as the movies are hot – and they will be hot for years to come – so don’t sell out. Over the Garden Wall: Mixed sales on #1. #2 should settle at about 60% of sales of #1. Wild’s End: The previous series was a low to middle seller. This will be more of the...

Not much this week and with 100 hour week behind me due to opening the new 6200 sq ft location this weekend I’m not looking for things on which to comment. BPRD: With a Mignola cover in the mix there’s no reason to order the other. Paybacks: Looks fun but getting people to look inside will be tough. Convergence Crisis TP: Is anyone looking for this? I don’t think so. Prez: #3 is late and they want us to order #4 while it’s in freefall? Subs only. Let it die. Better yet, kill it with fire. Vertigo Preview Book: No info but order a bunch. It’s free. D4ve: Order like the Last Series sold. Captain America White: This one would do pretty well… six years ago. There’s a lot of problems with it coming out today. Let’s start with the title. The All New Captain America is a man of color and here’s Steve Rodgers, Captain America White. If the media doesn’t jump on this Al Sharpton will. Aside from that, on today’s crowded newsstand this is just another out-of-continuity mini-series. Looks nice but even Marvel doesn’t seem to have much faith considering the low (but still a bit high for this book) incentives. Guardians of Nowhere: #3 lost some more readers. Looking at exactly what you sold so far on #3. Keep in mind that these will have almost no value as back issues 6 months (weeks) from now. House of M: Very mixed reviews on this one. Ennui is starting to set in like gout and it’s becoming uncomfortable. Ordering #3 with no data on #2 so...

Frank Frazetta Death Dealer Snowglobe: I dunno about this one. Snowglobes tend to sell to women while Death Dealers seem to cater more toward the men. I’m not sure who’s going to buy this but if you have any sensitive barbarians shopping at your store then this might be for them. Mirrors Edge Exordium: Video game tie-in. Comparable to Mass Effect sounds about right. Batman: The origin of Mr. Bloom so that’s worth some back issue note. Capullo is off this issue and “Superstar artist Jock” will be filling in. Sorry, it’s not Capullo and as long as that lasts only one issue it shouldn’t drop off. Birds of Prey TP: A new collection of stories out of cannon so interest will be minimal among newer fans but might catch the odd older fan who fondly remembers the original stories. Green Lantern covers: No real interest. Most don’t make a lot of sense and fans will want the regular cover. Convergence Zero Hour: Just because they collect it doesn’t mean we can sell it or have to order it. This series got lackluster reviews at best so no one will be waiting for the trade outside that one guy. If that one guy isn’t shopping with you then beg off it. Atomic Robo and the Ring of Fire: After multiple FCBD offerings and promoting this book we still end up with sales in the low double digits and yes, zero is sort of a digit. Zero is fine or subs only. D4ve: Middlin’ reaction to this one on the monthlies so I don’t see a lot of demand for...

DC Green Lantern Variants: These don’t make a lick of sense. Joker? Yeah, there’s a lot of Joker fans. Harley? Yep, got those fans too. Green Lantern? Uh, yeah, but what’s special about GL these days that will entice fans? I know, it’s his 75th anniversary (sort of since this is Hal Jordan, not Alan Scott) but who wants a GL cover on their Superman when GL isn’t in the book. Get a few for THOSE fans but most will want the regular cover. DC Comics Bombshells #2: No data on #1 for online-first comics gets a placeholder. Detective Comics: Featuring Joker’s Daughter, just not on the cover (D’oh!). At least this GL variant makes sense. Boy #2: No data on #1 but it’s returnable for matching to #1. But what if you didn’t order any #1 because it looked relatively unsellable? Danger Girl Renegade: DG Mayday came out 04/23/14 so we’re pretty far removed from useful numbers. This series will have Campbell covers so that will give it a look by his fans. 10 or more makes it returnable so find the ceiling on IDW’s dime. Drive #1: Based on a cult movie from 4 years ago. Yeah, four years ago. Not long enough for the nostalgia crowd and not recent enough to take advantage of the movie release. But, IDW’s putting up the returnable money – 10 copies and it’s returnable. Star Trek GL #3: Match to STGL #2 and it’s returnable though we have no data on #2 yet. But STGL #2 was returnable by matching #1. Seems to be IDW’s modus operandi on several series...

Zodiac Starforce: A cross between Jem and Sailor Moon. Should sell to that same audience but likely not in similar numbers. Convergence HC: We’ll probably sell one or two but I see this as a series that will be pretty much forgotten and we don’t sell things well that people don’t remember. Cyborg: Sold about 50% of JL, which is pretty nice. Seems the crowd will stay with this but we’ll see. Thinking 75% of #1 on #2. DC Comics Designer Dodson Earth 1: Dodson? Yup. Earth 1? Uh, never mind. DC Comics Icon Harley Quinn: Iconic pose and iconic costume. How many do you have to order so you still have one this time next year? Harley Quinn Road Trip Special: No problem selling this in equal numbers to a regular issue of Harley. JLA Gods & Monsters #3: We’re ordering #3 before we have a week of data on #1 on a digital first book with lackluster sales on the tie-ins? No. No we’re not. Placeholder and we’ll take another look after #2 hits. Sandman Overture HC: Don’t get too wrapped up in the nostalgia of this title. Order a few or even a dozen if you have that store but DC will print lots. Most stores won’t need more than a few. DC Bombshell covers: Most of these are just awful. Sorry folks, but these are beefcake, not bombshells and I don’t see the female customers getting all excited about these the way the male customers did during the first round. Superman Bombshell: Except this one. This is a bombshell cover. We Are Robin: Settling in...
