Black Hammer: #1 did quite well.  Holding steady until it proves otherwise. Briggs Land: Returnable at 15 copies.  Pull for Rebels and Black Road.  Wood’s fans tend to follow him from project to project. Groo: I wish this would sell better but alas, it doesn’t. It’s only downhill in sales from here. Aquaman: Seeing some harsh drops but still way above where it was before the relaunch.  Numbers are coming back to earth.  I don’t know who DC has to pay off at Diamond or who needs to be rebirthed at DC but missing half the covers at FOC should be majorly embarrassing.  No, I don’t care that everyone is busy at SDCC, there’s little sense spending beaucoup bucks for a 2-story booth if retailers can’t see what you’re offering. Batgirl & Birds of Prey: I don’t expect it but looking at half Batman. Green Arrow: Looks like one of the big winners in Rebirth.  Sales are trending down but not too badly. Suicide Squad: Jim Lee does the art – at least half of it with a back-up personnel files story.  Bit of a disappointment to go from every other issue by Jim Lee to ½ of every other issue.  Bemejo cover is pretty strong for Harley fans. Suicide Squad Most Wanted TP: No.  Not even with the movie. Supergirl Rebirth: This should outsell Superman, at least initially. Duck Avenger: Pull for Donald Duck. Powerpuff Girls: Wow.  Not good sales on #1.  Cutting by 70% and that’s not from very high numbers. Superf*uckers Forever: Hey, another book with f*ck or Sex on the cover!  Not for the stands. ...

Mobius Library World of Edena: Lovely work but at 49.99 it’s not exactly an impulse buy and it’s available on Amazon for $42.49.  $7.50 is enough to make most people with Amazon Prime (free sipping) to use your store for a showroom. All-Star Batman: Inexcusable that the covers aren’t listed at FOC.  I blame DC and Diamond equally.  Simply no excuse.  Anyways, Scott Snyder is the big Bat-draw here but two downsides are the abysmal art of JRJR and the 4.99 cover price.  But we get to find out how much people love Snyder or hate JRJR on DC’s dime so don’t sell out Day One!  Order up on the Shavely and Jock covers.  Thinking Batman Rebirth numbers, even at the 4.99. DC Trades: Be careful.  We’re seeing a slow down on Trades in general.  Might be due to more money being spent on Rebirth or more of that market going online but either way we need to watch COG and be selling more than we’re buying. Do we really need THREE Supergirl trades in one week?  Magic Eight Ball laughed at the notion.  This may be one of the few times when multiplying by zero gives you a positive number in your pocket. Deathstroke Rebirth: Looking at mid-run Rebirth numbers.  Thinking along the lines of Green Lanterns because it’s about the same in popularity, at least initially.  Great cover A.  Okay variant cover by Stephen (is it 1995 again) Platt. Detective Comics Var: I usually like Alburquerque’s are but he’s been mailing in these covers of late. Flash: Very strong numbers on #2.  Keeping them high. Flintstones: #1did...

Bounty: We pulled for Rat Queens and it did okay.  Figuring 65% of what we sold on #1 to account for the natural attrition. Buffy HS Years Glutton For Punishment: The title and description are so punny I want to order zero.  But it’s Buffy and there are still a few fans who love the series.  A few. Lady Killer: First one did okay.  This should find the same audience. Aquaman: #2 sold 5 times what the previous series sold so that’s a huge win.  Holding steady while returnability is in the air. Batman: Coming back to earth a bit but still way over the previous series. Harley Quinn: 100% returnable.  I don’t see a huge rash of new Harley readers but the speculators will make it look that way.  Don’t sell out.  3-5X current Harley. JL: I’m a bit disappointed in JL Rebirth numbers. Maybe this week will make up the difference.  Not looking to cut too deeply just yet. Suicide Squad Rebirth: No Jim Lee on this one but pull it for Lee fans as he’ll be doing #1. Hype for the movie is ramping up so don’t get caught short – RETURNABLE!  Look at your medium selling titles (Green Lanterns for example) and order that plus 50%. Telos Trade Paperback: Oh hell no.  If you order this you’re part of the everything-needs-to-be-in-trade problem.  NO ONE is looking for this.  Stop supporting bad comics and support yourself instead. Adventures of Agusta Wind: Looks like a neat kids book but we have a lot of kids books right now and they’re starting to fill the gap.  Not sure...

Predator vs Judge Dredd vs Aliens: No Dredd fan will be able to resist this mash-up.  Great Dredd cover but the smaller Alien and Predator might be missed without pointing it out.  No idea why anyone would want the B&W cover when the color one is so nice.  Unlock?  Why bother.  Predator plus Dredd numbers. Action: 958 saw a 30-50% drop from 957, which is still a huge improvement over previous numbers. Looking at what it’s selling now.  Returnable so no excuse not maximizing the potential.  The variant might draw some WW eyes. Aquaman 75 Years: I see about zero change of these sales coming to us instead of Amazon for those dozen customers worldwide who will spend the money. Art of DC Comics Bombshells: Might get a few impulse buy on this but we’ll be used as Amazon’s showroom for a 39.99 book. Batgirl: Will probably do about 50% of Batman Rebirth but I’m ordering higher than that just to make sure.  Returnable.  Neither cover is Alburquerque’s best work. Batgirl TP Vol 3: A stunning thing happened last week: Harley Vol 4 TP sold only 2 copies as a chain for us.  We got in more than 30 and our 2 biggest stores sold a combined total zero copies in week one.  Hmmm.  I have no doubt we’ll go through them in the coming months but zero for Harley is telling.  So if Harley, one of the hottest-selling trades gets no play, what interest will we be seeing in the pre-rebirthboot of Batgirl?  One per store.  It will be available for reorder. Batman Animated Christmas W the Joker...
