Dead Inside: Crime mini-series.  There’s a small crime contingent out there but it’s always a crap shoot if they’ll buy into a series.  10 gets returnability so if you’re willing to put out the cash for a few months to see if that crime sector cares, go for it.  Not much else to recommend it. DC: We’re now past returnabity and settling in to see where sales take us.  Still doing quite well on most previous-run series’ – 2-4 times higher.  Other series’ are finding the bottom pretty quickly.  Be cautious but don’t under-order and kill your momentum. All Star Batman Director’s Cut: Few.  Despite JRJR getting on huge projects with great writers there seem to be few rabid fans of his art. Cave Carson: Very disappointed in this.  Complete failure. Checkmate TP: There is zero reason that this mediocre series ever needs to see the light of day again.  Zero. Justice League Suicide Squad: Gallery is thinking Suicide Squad numbers on #1 and I don’t think that’s off.  The main cover on #1 is the only sellable cover – the other 2 are kinda mundane.  Not all the cover info is there for #2 but I’m thinking mostly main cover and about 75% of whatever you order on #1. Have I mentioned lately how much I hate weekly series’, especially ones that can’t even show us the covers yet on #2 and the artists are already in rotation?  Not a lot of confidence. Mother Panic: We ordered In Doom Patrol numbers and are being rewarded, or punished, with about 50% sales.  Ordering about 75% of what we sold,...

Here’s hoping Black Friday kicks off a great Christmas season. Shadows on the Grave: Richard Corben in B&W.  Limited audience these days.  10 gets returnability but that’s a lot for most stores. Flash and JL Trades: Both of these should sell through 5 copies in just about any store.  5 gets you 5% better discount. New Superman: No longer returnable and with sales declining with every issue I don’t see this one lasting long.  Zero value as a back issue unless this character shows up in a movie or TV series. Suicide Squad: Ties into the upcoming JLA vs Suicide Squad but prequels and preludes usually don’t do much for sales. Red Hood & the Outlaws: Another title that is falling flat or more accurately, just falling.  Last returnable issue. Supergirl Being Super: Beautiful artwork.  Unfortunately, it’s attached to a 5.99 mini-series unconnected to anything else.  I could do well with this for 3.99 but the 5.99 gets it a 60% of Supergirl sales. Superwoman: Seems anything that’s not SuperMAN tends to be Superman-iteration-lite and doesn’t get the attention that was hoped for.  File this on under New Superman. Batman TMNT Adventures:  Doing well.  We ordered up so we wouldn’t sell out right away and I’m pleased with the current sales.  Ordering what sold so far on #1.  The main cover is a Harley cover and it’s in the style that introduced her. Comic book History: #1 sold okay and sold out in most of my stores.  Match order to #1 and it’s fully returnable so let’s do that. D&D Frost Giant’s Fury: Nothing is more fun to fight...

Welcome to the largest FOC in memory, at least in terms of items offered. Cyborg: Intro She-Borg, because all the good names were taken.  Don’t see it having a huge sales impact but anything to help this book is good. DC Rebirth Holiday Special: Paul Dini is the only draw here and Paul Dini doing Harley is a great draw… unless the book is 9.99.  Fans will want this but I see few wanting to drop a Hamilton on it with so much else competing for the dollars these days. Low numbers but pull for your must-have-all-Harley fans. Injustice (Fill in the Blank): Should sell just like Injustice (Previous series) as they’re pretty interchangeable. Suicide Squad Director’s Cut: Always a small but loyal market for these, especially Jim Lee’s work.  Some but a small percentage of SS. Star Trek New Visions: You should have a pretty good idea on these by now.  We tend to sell out even if not right away. Transformers More Than Meets The Eye Revolution: Same as TMTMTE. Yakuza Demon Killers: No data on #1 on a series that I have my doubts about.  Subs only. AD After Death #2: Nope.  Sorry guys but with no data on a 5.99 off-sized 3-issue mini-series we’re not doing this. We’ll take another look after #1 comes in but minimal orders on #2 now. Subs plus some. Motor Crush: There’s never been great appeal to racing or motorcycle books so this has an uphill struggle on that front.  Might appeal to Bitch Planet fans.  Middle to low numbers. Violent Love: #1 came in mediocre at best.  Dropping from...

Serenity: Disappointed in sales so far. Not terrible but not as high as I was hoping.  Anyone who bought #1 will be back for #2. Sabretooth Swordsman HC 2nd Print: This is the top-selling TP of all time in our Lakeland store but it could have something to do with Coliseum’s own Aaron Conley being the artist.  Fun book to have if you don’t have it in stock. Animated Batman 2-Pack: There were 2 comments from the Gallery: “Too expensive” and “Looks terrible.”  That sums it up. Batman Annual: Nice Finch cover but it’s still an annual.  85% of Batman. Batman B&W by Gi: Too odd for anyone looking for a Batman figure so it’s down to Gi fans – few though there are on the North American shores – and completists. Bloodlines TP: Mining the dregs.  Zero is fine. DK III: The lateness has hurt sales pretty badly on this.  Great cover but the whole series is starting to look like a “wait for the trade” thing.  95% of sales on the previous issue. DC Statues & Figures: Raven Bombshell is nice but alas it looks little like the Raven that Raven fans love.  Bombshell figures will do ‘eh’ for the most part though the Harley is different enough to grab some sales.  Cyborg for $45?  Not today.  Tomorrow isn’t looking good either.  Static is an ongoing lox.  The rest will find mediocre success. Direct Currents: I hate paying for promo materials but if this is as solid as the Rebirth Preview then it’s well worth it in return sales.  Thinking order and pull for Batman. Injustice Annual:...
