Batman: Part one of a new arc. Batman Who Laughs: Of all the one-offs, this one should have the greatest sales tail. Metal numbers. DC House of Horror: Not sure if I love this cover or hate it. I do know that I hate $10 comic books, especially in a one-shot that ties into nothing current. Subs and a few. These have almost no sales value after Halloween. Deadman: For those of us who are fans of Neal Adam’s Strange Adventures this is a welcome addition to the mythos. Problem is, those stories are no more relevant to today’s readers than Timely Comics so it’s a whole new, relatively unknown property. The Glow-in-the-dark cover should gain some attention but I’d be happier if it was 3.99. Get some but this won’t be the sales juggernaut it would have been around 1972. Harley Quinn: The variant will have a lot of demand. LCSD Batman Hush HC: This is a perfect example of why Coliseum doesn’t do LCSD. With 1800 viable comic stores out there, this will be allocated to 1 per account, maybe 2 depending on participation. The problem is, we’ll inevitably disappoint people wanting it and as it’s allocated, the eBay-flippers will be sniffing around early trying to nab a copy so they can make a profit. Nothing good about this and not sure I have a solution other than telling folks we didn’t play in that game. Mister Miracle: If you’re out, get more. Don’t let this book not find it’s potential. Kid Lobotomy: Look at this as a Young Animals title. It’s returnable at 15 copies so...

Weird week of post-hurricane power and internet outages. Finally got internet back at the offices Friday at 6:00 p.m. and power at the house on Friday evening.  Just starting to get back to some sense of normalcy and hey, look, here comes Marie! Luckily there’s only… 2 ½ more months of hurricane season. Sherlock Frankenstein and the Legion of Evil: A Black Hammer spin-off so worth ordering and pulling for Black Hammer. 10 copies gets returnability. Action Lenticular: Reaction was so-so. Some interest but nowhere near The Button. Batman Lost: These seem to be taking the same sales path based on Metal #2. Staying strong. Detective: Mr. Oz story tie-in. Worth a few extras but the cover doesn’t sell it so you’ll have to point it out. Gotham City Garage: The covers will get some looks. The entire Gallery independently suggested Bombshell numbers. A hive mind is a terrible thing to waste. Ragman: No love from the Gallery. Subs plus a few copies for the first issue people. Supergirl: Another nice variant by Stanly Lau but the novelty is wearing off. Will still sell a bunch even though the focus isn’t on Supergirl. Wildstorm Michael Cray: Outside those currently buying Wildstorm, I don’t see sales. The Gallery isn’t buying in. Neither should you. IDW: It’s getting ugly for a lot of these as beyond subs, we’re seeing nothing. With a max discount of 50% and money going to the Big Two with Metal and Legacy, this is where the cuts come in. Atomahawk: Even those who like this are guarded as it’s a 5.99 cover for a reprint. Donny...

FOC: Hurricane Edition Due to Irma, this week is a bit off. No time for comments from the Gallery so you get undistilled “Phil” on this one. As the FOC list wasn’t solidified yet, some things may not be on here or may and not be on FOC. Stay safe. 466 items this week, which is about twice a normal monthly catalog when I started selling comics. Batman: We saw a bit of a slump after the great start on Jokes & Riddles but that was mostly due to lackluster covers. Nice covers for the conclusion so look at #2 or 3 in this series for direction. Batman The Devastator: Metal is gold. Same as last week’s Batman the Merciless. Batman White Knight: Joker is the good guy and Batman is the maniacal villain?  Okay. Won’t appeal to every Batfan but should have some general appeal. Thinking about 50% of Batman on the first issue and see where it lands. Green Arrow: Gotham Resistance & Metal! Look at Suicide Squad from last week for guidance. Despite this being part 4, it will be weaker as GA’s sales are weaker. I know, that shouldn’t make sense, but it’s almost always true. Harley & Ivy Meet Betty & Veronica: Thinking Harley’s Little Black Book numbers on this one. Spin-off enough to hurt sales, odd enough to make people take a second look. A Very DC Rebirth Holiday TP: $16.99 for 3 semi-joined stories?  No one will care come December 26th and I’m not convinced anyone will care before that either. Skippable. Funko Universe TP: If This included Marvel and DC characters...

Action Comics: Oz Effect continues. Hold steady on the Lenticulars because no matter how much people complain about them, they sell. Batgirl: Nightwing appearance part 2. Other than Bienne of Tarth and Tormund, this is the romance everyone wants to see happen. Worth a bump. Batman Beyond: Art of Lolo XXX’s Siya Oum. Pull for Lola because Oum’s art fans will pick it up. Batman Detective HC: Not sure we need a $40 HC of this. Batman The Dark Prince Charming HC: Gallery thinks the format could hurt but it’s a 12.99 original GN. The only drawback for this to me is that its part one of two. Get some but it’s not an all-Batfans thing. Batman The Merciless: Should do Batman numbers without any problem. DC Designer Aquaman Mera: Nice statue. Won’t be a fast seller but it’s a nice item as Aquaman is on the rise. Bumblebee Action Figure: Pass Supergirl Action Figure: A few but nothing overwhelming. DC Flash Action Figure: Sellable.  Get some. Harley Statue: Stanley Lau has been gaining attention with his Supergirl covers and this statue is more of that. As many Harley statues as we have, this is still sellable Joker Coloring Book: If you’re still selling coloring books then this will sell a few. Nightwing and New Order: #1 did very well, selling or outselling Nightwing across the stores.  Should hold steady. Suicide Squad: Gotham Resistance Metal cross-over.  AND Stjepan Sejik art – did anyone notice he’s doing a bi-weekly book AND extra issues?  That’s a Kirby-eque effort! Order up to cover Nightwing and Titans. Trillium Deluxe HC: Pretty sure no...
