Empowered & Sistah Spooky: Anyone buying the Empowered trades will likely want this. 10 copies gets you returnability. GOT Daenerys Mother of Dragons: This will be out during the long hiatus. These figures slowed down as they characters became more and more obscure. Rereleasing the line with new sculpts allows them to revisit the favorite (aka sellable) figures. Worth a few, at least until we hit Third-Unsullied-From-The-Left figure. Hellboy Krampusnacht: Mignola and Adam Hughes.  Major plus as Hughes’ fans will buy almost anything he does. Look at your top-selling Hellboy book from the last year and then add a few. Crazy as it may sound, pull for Betty & Veronica.  Seriously.  Hellboy for B&V.  Sure.  We’re now living in a strange world. Tomb Raider: Well that was a sales disappointment.  On its way to subs only very quickly. Anarky TP: I can’t think of a single reason for this to even exist unless Anarky was going to be a major player in the comics. He’s appearing in Arrow but that likely won’t translate into sales for comic stores. Aquaman: No Sejic art. However, the art is by Ricardo Federici, who is amazing in his own right.  The story has been lackluster so maybe the new arc will regain some traction. For now, same as it has been. Batgirl: Harley cover so worth a few extra for those Harley completists. Batman: Great cover though I can’t define why. Superman appearance so figure a few extras. Batman Creature of the Night: At 5.99 and zero data for sales on #1, this gets a placeholder of minimal copies.  DC tends to stick...

Alex Alonso is out (good riddance!) though throwing the bad captain overboard doesn’t get you out of the storm that he’s left behind. Alonso seemed to double down on every bad decision and worse, did it at the expense of the fan base that supported Marvel for decades. I really have no idea if those fans are waiting for Marvel’s return to glory or if they’ve walked away, never to return. Chances are, it will take a major leap of faith on the part of retailers to make that happen and Marvel’s goodwill account is about dry. We’re now in the CB Cebulski  era of Marvel. I’m not sure what this means as Cebulski doesn’t wear his politics or leanings on his Facebook page. There’s no shortage of “What he needs to do first” sort of advice and I think retailers in general agree that what he needs to do first is stop doing what Marvel’s been doing over the last 3-5 years under Alonso. I’d bet he’s going to be on a shorter leash as Disney doesn’t like to repeat mistakes and no doubt, Alonso got away with making a lot of mistakes over and over. I expect we’ll see some sort of reboot. Frankly, though everyone is tired of reboots, Marvel seems to just be repairing a 1959 Edsel month after month rather than investing in the new car they need. Cebulski seems to have a talent for talent and that will be much needed since DC has tied up a vast number of known creators. Unless Disney opens the purse to entice some of the talent...

Chimichanga: A year late. Subs only and make sure those subs are still alive as it’s been a while. Rasputin Voice of Dragon: Without #1 data we have no idea if Mignola’s fans will follow him here.  Subs only and revisit after #1 hits. Batman: Superman story so it’s worth a few extra copies. Not sure what Copiel was trying to accomplish with that variant cover but it doesn’t work for me and I usually love his work though at least one of the Gallery noted it is an awesome cover. After spending the afternoon at the Maitland Art Festival I can say with some authority that art is certainly a debatable topic. Batman TMNT: Forget the Batman Adventures cross-over, this is the one fans want. We’ll likely see some drop-off from the first series but this should still do very well. Batman White Knight: Everything Metal and everything Batman is solid gold right now. This continues to do well. Order #s 1 & 2 if you’re out, which is likely. Black Lightning: Ordered moderately low. Sold less. Cutting to 80% of sales on #1. Captain Atom TP: No. Skippable. DC Bombshell: On FOC again this week and still for completists only. Deadman: Ordered moderately low and sold out in several stores. Holding the numbers pretty close to #1 as Adams’  fans have waited a long time for more Adams’ Deadman. Harley & Ivy Meet Betty & Veronica: The bloom fell off this rose, got trampled underfoot, and kicked under a dumpster. Sales have been 50-75% of #1 depending on the store. Thought this would have better legs.  Cutting...

Moebius Inside Mobius HC: “I feel good comic shops carry Moebius books”. This is a statement from one of the Gallery and I agree. Amazon prices have been coming up to retail levels of late – this one is available for 36.79. (https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss/135-5897211-3221816?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=MOEBIUS+LIBRARY+INSIDE+MOEBIUS+HC) . Worth having one for the stands if you have an art crowd or anyone with an eclectic taste for off-beat comics. Aquaman Annual:  Sales have been dropping on Aquaman despite Sejick’s amazing art. This doesn’t have Sejick art so I expect a larger than usual drop on this annual.  Subs plus a few. Batman Annual: Tom King has gained a solid fan following and this is an extension of the current story via flashback. Should sell like a normal Batman issue. Batman Animated Jokermobile: This will be a tough sell for $100. We sold the Batmobiles but it’s not a fast seller. Special order only. Batman Metal alternate printings: Keep these in stock as they seem to be finding new readers with every new issue. Batman Vs Joker Statue: I’ve lost some faith in DC’s statue line due to quality control issues. Willing to take a chance on this? Nice piece for the Batfan despite the price. Dark Days Forge Director’s Cut: As these are out of print, worth carrying them. Great price for 2 issues that gets the series rolling but not much in the way of selling to fans who already bought the regular issues. Bombshell Green Lantern: Nice statue but who cares?  Only the completists. DC Designer Batman by Mignola: This is the third release of this sculpt and it doesn’t look...
