Megacon Special! After 4 days of 14-hour days plus the previous week’s usual stuff, this might be a bit abridged.   BTVS: Same as it ever was. No reason it should suddenly find a new audience.   Aquaman: Nice Middleton cover. His Batgirl cover from last week hit ridiculous $$$ on ebay so don’t underestimate his selling power.   Batman Var: Artgerm so yeah, order up but keep in mind that Batman is already selling to a huge number of folks.   Batman Prelude to the Wedding Red Hood: No sales data on these yet though they should all do pretty well being tied to the wedding.   Justice League: No data on #1 so looking at the weekly fiasco, which is a poor guide. With artists falling off projects more often that they’re staying on, this is a crap-shoot. Ordering where sales are hitting on No Justice and adjusting to hit the Jim Lee variant where reasonable.   Man of Steel: Still using Batman Lost as the returnable barrier without anyone remembering that #4 NEVER sells as well as #1. Going there, planting a tree in memorial of all the dead trees to meet this number.   New Challengers: So-so on sales, which isn’t great when it’s a #1. Looking at where the other New Age books have fallen to and goiong there without waiting for the numbers to catch up.   TMNT: #1 sold out here though that was admittedly lower-end orders. Reordering #1 and going a bit over #1 on #2.   Flavor: Not enough buzz or sales on #1 to get me to order more...

Tomb Raider: Looking at the last issue of the previous series and, I was going to suggest adding a few for the #1 but with that cover, it’s DOA. Nostalgia bent sated, moving on.   Batman Prelude Batgirl & Riddler: Not a great cover but folks are adding these titles to subs and these will sell through the wedding and shortly after. Ordering in Batman Numbers for the long game.   Flash: Flash War pt 2. Order up some. Mattina cover is a nice place to add those extra copies.   Hawkman: Without the direct tie to Metal this will have a shortfall of readers. Yeah, the covers are cool and Hitch is doing the art and… well, it’s inevitably Hawkman and Robert Vendetti isn’t going to bring fans with him. DC is running on a hot streak so if Hawkman has ever had a better shot at gaining some traction, this could be it. Thinking Mister Miracle numbers; not that they have anything in common, but it seems about right. DC could have used something to buoy orders.   Immortal Men #3: For any fan thinking of jumping off, this is a sure-fire way top nail them to another issue. Man Who Laughs cover will sell out quickly. Thinking 50% increase over whatever sold on #2.   Man of Steel: Returnable at the same level. I doubt I’ll sell them but that’s DC’s problem.   Plastic Man: Stretching to find something good about this and that awful pun just might be the high point. Let’s face it, Plas isn’t anyone’s go-to character. Make it a 6-issue series and...

Game of Thrones Map of Westeros: Nice item for stores that sell GoT items.   Halo: Nothing new here so should sell the same as the previous series’.   How to Train Your Dragon: These seem to be evergreen. Carry some. Sword Daughter: Brian Wood fans will likely give it a look, but the 4.99 price will cut down on casual readers. 10 gets you an extra 10% but that’s likely a lot for most stores. Lower end title.   Batman: Featuring the Joker… except on the cover. Anyway, Bats is ticking on all cylinders so keep the orders up. No brainer.   Batman Prelude to the Wedding Nightwing Hush: Fans are getting happy about the wedding so though this will likely be a slower burn, we should see close to Batnumbers coming in.   DC Nation: Free up to Batman #46 numbers and extras cost us 35 cents. I hate paying for promo items but based on the good feedback on the sort-of-FCBD book, this would be a natural follow-up. Thinking one per subscriber and see what orders you can harvest from it.   Justice League: Lots of excitement around this but before you get drawn into the hype, let’s look at how Justice League No Justice is doing. Okay sales but not stratospheric, which is where they would have to be to get me to buy into multiples of Batman Lost for a better discount. I’m concerned that the only times we see the JL in the first issue is them sitting around a table. Not a good image for a quick thumb-through from the stands. Jim...

Blackwood: Could be fun though it’s not a quick sell. Returnable at 10 copies. Aquaman Jabberjaw: The last round of these did better than expected and even though we’re onto some B tier characters, they’re still likely to do better than expected. Not a lot of faith that the sales will be high, just higher end of low or lower middle. B&W Statues by Gerard Way: These are a bit odd and likely will be special order items more than the type of thing you put on the shelf and sell to the average Batfan. Maybe one of each. Batman Prelude to the Wedding: Fans seem to be looking forward to the wedding so we should bet some mileage out of that and sell this to most Batfans. 75-100% of Batman numbers. Black Lightning Hong Kong Phooey: Lower end of the batch based on how the rectn Black Lightning series didn’t sell. DC Bombshell Joker’s Daughter: Not a recognizable character to most comic store visitors so there goes the impulse sale. How did Bumblebee sell? Yeah, that. DC Designer Supergirl by Turner: Nice piece. If you sell statues, this should be an easy one to move a few of. DC Gallery Joker 1:1. Bust: I know it’s the Joker but this is not a good Joker. Trying to convince someone with $1000 in their pocket that it IS a good Joker statue is a waste of time. Very hard pass. Doomsday Clock Rorschach Mime 2 Pack: Had me at Rorschach. Lost me at Mime. KIinda pricy for a figure that’s saddled with the Mime figure. Flash Speed Buggy: Flash...
